The Pearl-Poet Society is sponsoring the following five sessions at the 44th International Congress on Medieval Studies, 7-10 May 2009 Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan:
I. Pedagogy: Teaching the Pearl-Poet (Roundtable)
II. Time and Space in the Works of the Pearl-Poet
III. Beginnings and Endings in the Works of the Pearl-Poet
IV. Margins and Marginalization: The "Lesser" and Disputed Works of the Pearl-Poet
V. Debate in and about the Pearl-Poems
We invite abstracts from scholars of all levels, from graduate student to senior academic.
Please submit a one-page abstract and the appropriate covering sheet (Participant Information Form, available here:
http://www.wmich.edu/medieval/congress/submissions.html#PIF) to the desired session.
Papers are to be no more than 20 minutes, and the deadline for submissions is September 15, 2008. Submissions and inquiries may be sent to:
