Workshop on the Old English Gloss to the Lindisfarne Gospels From:

You may recall that the Workshop on the Old English Gloss to the Lindisfarne Gospels, which was due to take place in April this year, had to be postponed due to unforseen circumstances. We would like to inform you that it has now been rescheduled for Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th of April 2012. The workshop will still take place at the University of Westminster, London. The workshop aims to provide a forum for multidisciplinary discussion on the gloss. You are welcome to present a paper on topics such as: 1) The relationship between the Old English gloss and the Latin text 2) The similarities and differences between the Aldredian gloss and Rushworth 2 3) The linguistic features of the Old English gloss (spelling/phonology, morphology, morphosyntax and lexis) 4) The historical, religious, literary and intellectual context of the gloss 5) The Lindisfarne gloss in the context of Old English glossography Prof. Michelle Brown, Prof. Jane Roberts and Dr Robert McColl Millar have already confirmed their participation as key-note speakers. If you would like to present a paper, please send an abstract (approx. 500 words) before the 10th of January 2012 to Dr Pons-Sanz (s.ponssanz@westminster.ac.uk). We very much look forward to seeing you in London next April. With best wishes, Dr Sara M. Pons-Sanz & Dr Julia Fernandez Cuesta
