The Journal of the Midwest Modern Language Association has
extended the deadline for essay submissions on its 2011 Conference
Theme: “Play.” Essays treating any aspect of “Play” in language,
literature, drama, film, and popular culture are welcome.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to: drama and
performance studies; satire and parody; linguistic play; game theory;
innovative pedagogies; scholarship as play; hoaxes and cons; queerings;
subjectivity and identity performance; sport; transgressions and
boundary-crossings; mindgames.
All submissions should be sent via email to the MMLA office at mmla@luc.edu by August 1, 2012.
